Rachel McAdams Receives Hollywood Star in Emotional Ceremony
Yesterday marked a truly special moment in Hollywood as Rachel McAdams was honoured with the 2,833rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony, held on 20 January 2026 at 6922 Hollywood Boulevard, celebrated over 25 years of a career that's helped define modern cinema—from her iconic turn as the ruthless Regina George to her Oscar-nominated performance in Spotlight.
What made the day particularly memorable wasn't just the star itself, but the rare glimpse into McAdams' famously private personal life. The actress was joined by her long-term partner, screenwriter Jamie Linden, and their two children: a seven-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter. In an emotional speech, she called Linden her "North Star" and thanked him and her sister Kayleen for keeping her "quasi-normal" despite the chaos of global fame.
McAdams also used the moment to pay heartfelt tribute to the legendary women who mentored her throughout her career. She gave a particularly moving nod to the late Diane Keaton, her co-star in The Family Stone, who passed away in October 2025. McAdams shared that Keaton treated her "like I was her own daughter" and recalled her advice: no matter how long you've been in the business, you have to "leave everything you've got on the table" in every performance. She also honoured the late Gena Rowlands and Sam Shepard, thanking the "stars up above" for what they taught her.
The ceremony featured speeches from close collaborators, including Domhnall Gleeson and director Sam Raimi, who called her a "phenomenal actor" who makes every room better. A truly deserved honour for a remarkable talent.
