Former TV Heartthrob Michael Vartan Looks Completely Different from His 'Alias' Days
Fans of the early-2000s spy drama Alias have been gobsmacked this week after new photos surfaced of Michael Vartan, who played the dashing CIA agent Michael Vaughn. The actor, best known as Jennifer Garner's on-screen love interest and real-life ex, looks totally different after stepping back from the Hollywood spotlight.
Now 57, Vartan was spotted doing his shopping in Los Angeles on Monday, looking nothing like the slick leading man who used to dominate our telly screens. With a thick, bushy grey beard and glasses, he kept things low-key whilst dressed in casual trackies and a Los Angeles Kings baseball cap.
A Quiet Step Back from Fame
Whilst many actors make a big song and dance about retiring, Vartan seems to have just quietly slipped into a more chilled-out life. His last major role was back in 2018, and since then he's swapped red carpets for a more laid-back existence.
In previous interviews, Vartan talked about how his attitude towards fame has changed, saying:
"As I get older... I care less about what people think about me. I care less about what I look like."
**Still Mates with Jennifer Garner**
Despite breaking up romantically in 2004, Vartan and Jennifer Garner have stayed really good friends. Garner often posts lovely tributes to her former co-star on social media, showing there's no hard feelings despite the years and the very different directions their lives have gone.
Whilst Vartan might not be chasing the next big film anymore, he looks perfectly happy with his new, low-key "silver fox" look.
